Gothenburg, 30 September 2026: Gapwaves today announces that the company's patented waveguide antennas are integrated into the radar sensors of one of Gapwaves’ Automotive Tier 1 customers in vehicles from a North American electric vehicle manufacturer. This means that vehicles with Gapwaves’ technology are now also on American roads.

The fact that Gapwaves' technology and products are now found in vehicles from this North American electric vehicle manufacturer further broadens Gapwaves' commercial reference base and is a concrete example of how Gapwaves' technology is reaching the end market to an increasing extent.

Gapwaves' patented gap waveguide technology enables thin, high-performance antennas with a compact form factor, which is crucial for today's space-constrained automotive radar sensors. The technology also enables cost-effective industrial production.

”It is very gratifying to see our technology on American roads. The US is a large and important automotive market, and this car manufacturer has built a clear profile around advanced technology and electrification. The fact that our antenna products are integrated into radar sensors in their vehicles is therefore an important reference for Gapwaves. The same fundamental technology is used in radar solutions for different car models and in different markets. For Gapwaves, this is exactly the kind of scalability we want to achieve as our technology moves from development into products in an increasing number of series-produced vehicles. As more vehicle programs reach the market, the commercial impact of our technology also becomes increasingly visible,” comments Jonas Ehinger, CEO of Gapwaves.

Gapwaves products reach more vehicle programs
Gapwaves has worked with several Tier 1 suppliers for many years, and the company's patented antenna technology is integrated into several of the new-generation radar sensors now coming to market. Gapwaves’ high-volume production of antennas for this generation is now being gradually scaled up.
