About Gapwaves waveguide technology

  • At higher frequencies, so-called millimeter waves in the range 30-300 GHz, the range of the radio-waves deteriorates and an efficient antenna with low energy losses is necessary
  • Traditional antennas made in circuit boards have problems at higher frequencies as the energy losses are high which leads to lower efficiency and shorter range
  • Gapwave’s waveguide technology enables radio waves to be conducted in air by being magnetically enclosed. This creates low signal losses, which provides an high-performance and energy-efficient antenna with a long range and large detecting area
  • Waveguide technology is known for creating high performance in antennas but has always been associated with complicated and expensive manufacturing. As such, waveguide-based antennas have previously been used in, for example, military applications manufactured in low volumes.
